The Marina at the Aqua Film Festival

(To Marina Militare)
11/10/16

The last weekend was held in Rome event cinematographic sponsored, among others, by the Navy: theAqua Film Festival.

Objective of the event: to enhance the water element as a source of life, energy, well-being and health and to promote respect, knowledge and love through the 'Seventh art'.

Young people were awarded during the event filmmakers, who have proposed shorts with water as the main theme. The link between the Navy and this vital element is obvious, but the link with cinematographic art is also very strong, which has always allowed citizens to experience the reality of those who work far away on the sea.

The relationship with the cinema takes its roots far back in time, particularly during the second conflict and in the immediate post-war period, there were many films shot in collaboration with the Navy.

The crews and vehicles "interpreted" themselves, while the stories resumed actual war events. The topic was addressed during a dedicated evening of the festival, from theHistorical Office of the Navy.

For the occasion, the Navy has prepared a film entitled "Prue a mare, the Navy at the service of the country", which illustrates the activities of the armed force in support of the community.

At the closing ceremony the Navy presented an award to a young director; a representative of the armed force was also present in the competition jury.
