Thursday 21 December in the main hall of the military naval school Francesco Morosini, in the presence of the commander of the Navy schools, team admiral Antonio Natale, military and civil authorities, family and friends, the swearing-in ceremony of the 61 students of the first course took place Uranus.
During the ceremony, the course banner was handed over by the godfather, professor Salvatore Siena. The banner, green in colour, represents the Greek god Uranos, a divinity deployed to protect the weak and defenceless, and bears the motto of the course “Animo et labore, sic itur ad astra" which means "With courage and with effort: this is how you reach the stars". Words chosen by the sworn students to highlight their awareness in always supporting each other with esprit de corps and discipline to always achieve their goals.
“Your duty begins today, and your duty is to commit yourself, apply yourself and not miss any possibility of growth, possibilities in which this school will guide and assist you at all times, providing you with all the necessary tools".
With these words, team admiral Antonio Natale encouraged the very young students.
