The command bridge of a multi-role ship in which to move and experiment with new generation systems and sensors, also with the help of virtual reality. This is the Leonardo-Finmeccanica exhibit proposal at Euronaval 2016, the main international exhibition dedicated to the naval sector that will take place from 17 to October 21 at Le Bourget, Paris. Reference player able to provide complete solutions for the management of naval missions that integrate multiple types of sensors including radar, electronic and weapon systems, helicopters and even piloted aircraft, the company will present, at stand n. J86 - K91 (Hall 2A), the latest technological developments made to meet the requirements of the most advanced global naval forces, starting with the Italian Navy. Leonardo is in fact responsible for the supply and integration of all the systems on board the new units that will renew the national fleet, in addition to developing the entire combat system.

Focus of the presence of Leonardo at the Show is the innovative "naval cockpit", which will allow the integrated management of the operations of conducting the ship and the combat system. Inside the cockpit, the new Combat Management System, characterized by an open, modular and reconfigurable architecture based on the type of mission, represents the command and control center of the ship and can be tested at the show through a tactical table.

The capabilities of the new multifunctional fixed-face and dual-band radars (image below), of the friend-foe and infrared detection sensors for target search and tracking, as well as of the advanced integrated radio and satellite communication systems will be shown thanks to augmented reality technologies.

Among the exposed submarine war equipment, the ATAS is the smallest and most powerful towed sonar with variable immersion depth currently available on the market, an absolute novelty in this sector.

Also on display is the large-caliber 127 / 64 Light Weight naval cannon, the most advanced in its category in the world, the over-deck version of the 76 / 62 multi-role cannon equipped with the Strales kit for the use of guided ammunition DART (Driven Ammunition Reduced Time Of Flight) and Vulcano new generation ammunition. Finally, on the ship's deck there will be an AW 101, a multi-role military helicopter capable of carrying out all the main naval missions: anti-ship, anti-submarine, search and rescue, patrol, radar picket, utility and amphibious support.

In the last 50 years over 40 Marine around the world have chosen Leonardo systems to equip more than 100 naval units. In addition to the "Naval Law" for the renewal of the Italian fleet, other significant projects are the Italian-French collaboration programs Orizzonte and FREMM, the modernization plan of the Qatar Navy, the partnership with the United Arab Emirates in the naval field, which have allowed Leonardo to establish itself as a reference player at the international level in the integration of combat systems and in the supply of advanced equipment in line with the most modern naval requirements.

Thanks to its long international experience, the company is able to meet all the requirements expressed also in the context of Maritime Domain Awareness for Safety and Security. Through its divisions, Leonardo supplies aircraft for maritime air patrols (Maritime Patrol Aircraft - MPA), helicopters for surveillance, search at sea (Search And Rescue - SAR) and contrast to surface and submarine threats, systems / vehicles unmanned vehicles (Unmanned Vehicle Systems - UVS), underwater and surface controlled robots, radar and electro-optical systems for coastal and border control, coastal site defense systems, maritime surveillance systems and scenario analysis operational, command and control systems and much more. Leonardo also provides satellite systems and services for Earth observation and geolocation, of extreme importance for the surveillance of the marine environment and maritime safety.

In addition, Leonardo collaborates with Fincantieri within the Orizzonte Sistemi Navali joint venture, in particular for the implementation of FREMM, and more generally in the military sector on the domestic market and abroad.
