Consip has definitively awarded the tender for the supply of 5.600 long-term rental vehicles without driver and associated and optional services for security forces, now in its second edition.
The agreement - to which all security bodies (including local police forces) will have access - aims to cover the needs of law enforcement agencies for institutional services to protect order and public safety through the instrument long-term rental (from 5 to 8 years), which allows the renewal of police car parks more quickly than those obtainable with the purchase of vehicles and better spending planning.
The tender was awarded for the four lots planned - Vehicles fitted in institutional colors (2.250 vehicles), Vehicles fitted as standard (1.000 vehicles), Cars (250 vehicles) and Commercial vehicles (500 vehicles) - to Leasys Spa.
The agreement, which lasts 18 months, with the possible extension of additional 12, provides for a maximum supply amount of 4 thousand vehicles, which with the extension of the 6 ┬░ and 7 ┬░ fifth required by law can reach a total of 5.600 vehicles.
The average savings achieved on the four lots compared to the prices based on auction prices is equal to 28%.
ÔÇťAn initiative of great satisfaction that allows us to make available to the police forces a highly flexible solution, such as rental, to meet fleet renewal needs - explains Cristiano Cannarsa, Managing Director of Consip. Together with other initiatives such as the conventions for 'armored cars' and for 'operational cars for the protection of the territory', the tender awarded today enriches and completes the offer dedicated to the institutions that deal with the fundamental task of protecting the safety of citizens".
