Consip has definitively awarded the tender for the supply of 5.600 long-term rental vehicles without drivers and related and optional services for the Security Forces, now in its second edition.

The agreement - to which all security forces (including local police forces) will be able to access - aims to cover the needs of law enforcement vehicles for institutional services for the protection of order and public safety through the tool long-term rental (from 5 to 8 years), which allows the renewal of police fleets in faster times than those obtainable with the purchase of vehicles and better planning of spending.

The tender was awarded for the four planned lots - Cars with set-up in school colors (2.250 vehicles), Cars with set-up in standard colors (1.000 vehicles), Cars (250 vehicles) and Commercial vehicles (500 vehicles) - to Leasys Spa.

The Agreement, lasting 18 months, with possible extension of a further 12, provides for a maximum supply quantity of 4 thousand vehicles, which with the extension of the 6th and 7th fifth provided for by law may reach a total of 5.600 vehicles.

The average savings achieved on the four lots compared to the prices set at the auction base is 28%.

"A highly satisfying initiative that allows us to make a highly flexible solution, such as rental, available to law enforcement agencies, to respond to fleet renewal needs - explains Cristiano Cannarsa, Chief Executive Officer of Consip. Together with other initiatives such as the agreements for 'Armored cars' and for 'Operational cars for the protection of the territory', the tender awarded today enriches and completes the offer dedicated to institutions that deal with the fundamental task of protecting the safety of citizens".
