WW3: will peace be dictated by sheep or wolves?

10/01/24

The Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army Navy Adm. Lisa Franchetti presented the priorities yesterday in a paper titled "America's Warfighting Navy" during the National Navy Symposium. Surface Navy Association.

The document "America's Warfighting Navy"highlights several key points:

About Us. We are the United States Navy, the most powerful navy in the world. We are the sailors and civilians who have answered our Nation's call to service. We are Americans who embody character, competence and dedication to our mission. Our identity is forged by the sea and we serve with honor, courage and commitment.

What do we do. We are here to preserve peace, respond to crises and win war with determination. We operate on the front lines, around the world and at all hours, from the seabed to space, in cyberspace and in the information environment to promote the prosperity and security of our Nation, deterring aggression and providing options to our national leaders. We provide power for peace, but we are always ready to fight and win as part of the Joint Force and together with our Allies and partners.

Where are we going. The threats to our nation and our interests are real and growing. The strategic environment has changed; Gone are the days when we operated from a maritime sanctuary against competitors who could not threaten us.

The National Defense Strategy makes clear that we must defend our homeland, deter strategic attacks, deter and be prepared to prevail in conflict against the People's Republic of China, and face the acute challenge of an aggressive Russia and other persistent threats. Our adversaries have prepared their militaries to overcome our traditional sources of strength.

We must move quickly to stay ahead and consistently create combat advantages. We must think, act and operate differently, leveraging war games and experimentation to integrate conventional capability with hybrid, unmanned and disruptive technologies.

Tomorrow's battlefield will be incredibly challenging and complex. To win decisively in that environment, our sailors must be the best warfighters in the world with the best systems, weapons and platforms to ensure the defeat of our adversaries.

We will put more players in the field: ready platforms with the right capabilities, weapons and support, and ready people with the right skills, tools, training and mindset.

Our Priorities. We will focus on Combat, Fighters ande Foundmint which replaces themthey come.

Combat: Provide Decisive Combat Power. We will view everything we do through a warfighting lens to ensure our Navy remains the preeminent fighting force in the world. We will prioritize the readiness and capabilities required to fight and win at sea, and the logistics and shore support needed to keep our Navy combat-ready. We recognize that we will never fight alone. We will promote naval integration with the Marine Corps and synchronize and align our warfighting efforts with the Joint Force. We will design and drive interoperability with our Allies and partners to deliver combined lethality.

Fighters: Strengthen the Navy Team. We will use the principles of mission command to empower leaders at all levels to operate in uncertain, complex, and rapidly changing environments, ready to take the initiative and act with boldness and confidence. We will build strong fighting teams, recruiting and retaining talented people from the broad fabric of America. We will provide world-class training and education to our sailors and civilians, honing their skills and giving them every opportunity to succeed. We will ensure that our quality of service meets the highest standards, and we will take care of our families and support networks, which allow us to achieve our combat mission.

Foundmint: Build Trust, Align Resources, Be Ready. We will earn and strengthen the trust and confidence of the American People every day. We will work with Congress to field and maintain the world's most powerful Navy and the infrastructure that supports it. We will collaborate with industry and academia to solve our most pressing challenges. We will cooperate with the interagency to strengthen integrated deterrence. We will align what we do on the ground with the warfighting needs of our Fleet.

Our Assignment. America is counting on us to deter aggression, defend our national security interests, and preserve our way of life. With the right tools, a winning mentality and the highest levels of integrity, we will operate safely as a team to deliver warfighting excellence.

I am proud to serve alongside you. I thank you and your families for your continued commitment to ensuring we are always ready.

We have decided and set our course. Together we will deliver the Nation the Navy it needs. It's time to move decisively and quickly: BArra center, aboast everything!

The USA, for years, has not prepared to face the imminent WORLD WAR, but a win it!

However, I would like, with regret, to tell Admiral Franchetti that his Italian origins (on his father's side) are now truly, truly distant...

I scroll through the press releases of "de noantri" politics in which, with the deterrence of a sheep, we propose "dialogue" and "peace tables". However, we are on a deserted beach, from which all the foreigners have fled, talking to ourselves. And, perhaps too busy Selfie, we don't see the thirty meter wave arriving on the horizon.

We are a flock that slips between packs of voracious wolves to talk about the virtues of vegetarianism... If we don't wake up quickly, for half an hour, will we all agree?
