All the flags of War and of the Air Force Institute, for the second time in history, on the occasion of the Centenary of the Armed Forces which occurs on March 28, 2023, were displayed in the Hall of Heroes of Palazzo Aeronautica, in Rome, in the afternoon of March 22nd.

These are the symbols that represent the traditions and values of these first 100 years of history of the Arma Azzurra. Just 6 days after the anniversary, the 36 war and Istituto flags of the flocks, departments and entities of the Air Force, accompanied by their respective ensigns received military honors in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force General Luca Goretti.

The event represented a particularly solemn moment not only for its historical and institutional significance, but also for the highly symbolic value for an Armed Force that is projected towards the future, laying its foundations on the solid foundations of its glorious past.

War flags are kept by the commanders of the respective departments inside a glass case or a flag-holder hood. They accompany the institution throughout its operational life, both in times of peace and war. The flag is the symbol of the department's honor, its traditions, its history and the memory of its fallen.
