Emergency flight for a two month old baby in danger of life

 A few minutes after landing at Ciampino military airport, coming from Cagliari Elmas, a Falcon 900 of the Italian Air Force with a child of just two months in imminent danger of life was brought to the scene. On board the aircraft the family of the child and a medical team that assisted him during the trip.

An ambulance is now leading him to the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome, where the small patient will be hospitalized for specialist care and appropriate assistance.

To request urgent transport, given the child's condition and the need for an immediate transfer from the Brotzu hospital to a specialized treatment center, the Cagliari prefecture was in the morning, which as expected in these cases, in coordination with the presidency of the Council of Ministers, has turned to Situations Room of the air force command of the Italian Air Force, the operational room activates 24 hours on 24 which is also responsible for coordinating this type of intervention.

Missions of this type require maximum timeliness and the Air Force, through its flight departments, provides vehicles and crews ready to take off 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without interruption and able to operate in any weather condition.

The special ability of the Air Force's vehicles to take on specific medical and health equipment and equipment, such as thermal cradles or even ambulances, as in the case of the aircraft of the 46 Air Brigade of Pisa, also allows patients and doctors to promptly reach the health facilities most suited to their needs by traveling in complete safety.
