From the first news it seems that on the flight ME 214, taken off at the 11,47 from Geneva and headed for Beirut airport, a baggage not belonging to any passenger was found.
The commander, having assessed the situation, asked to land in emergency at the Rome airport of Fiumicino, which was precautionary closed to air traffic.
Shortly before 14.00 pm, the aircraft landed on runway 25 of Fiumicino escorted by two Eurofighter Typhoons of the Air Force that flew over the area until 14.20 pm.
During the checks carried out in the afternoon no device was found on board.
