Awarded a Solemn Encomium to the AM Band

On Wednesday 1, July 2015, at the hangar of the historic Rome Centocelle Airport, in the presence of the Commander of the Air Force Military Rome, Air Force General Giuseppe Li Causi, was held the tribute ceremony by the Chief of Staff Maggiore of the Air Force, of a Collective Solemn Encomium at the Military Band of the Italian Air Force.

The event was attended by all the orchestral staff of the Banda Musicale dell'AM, as well as many of the former members of the joint accompanied by their families, including the dean of retired orchestral players, the 1st class marshal Romolo Gentile, born in 1914 who he played at the first concert held by the group in 1937 under the direction of Maestro Alberto Diminiello (author of the Marcia dell'Aeronautica) and Maestro Pietro Mascagni.

Among the most significant and relevant moments, the reading of the solemn enunciation given by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, general of the Pasquale Preziosa air squadron who stressed the commitment and professionalism of the staff involved in many activities of representation and concerts .

The current M ° director of the AM Band - Lieutenant Colonel Patrizio Esposito, gave a brilliant, emotionally engaging speech, which retraced, with quick temporal transitions, the great commitment made by the Musical Band over the years in supporting the external, internal and representative communication activities of the Armed Force.

Following, the intervention of General Li Causi who highlighted the commitment and professionalism of all the staff of the Band (98 units), who with self-denial and professionalism, supported an effort that then led to the results of the highest value , deserving of this collective recognition.

The band is composed of professionals, graduated from Italian conservatories. All the personnel who are part of it, access the Band for public competition and are in permanent effective service.

The repertoire includes many pieces of authors ranging from '600 to the present day, among which we remember: Bach, Rossini, Verdi, Bellini, Wagner, Gershwin, Hindemith, Schoenberg.

In addition to concerts and tours, the Band carries out its institutional duties by participating in the most significant ceremonies of the Armed Force and, alternating with other military bands, carries out the service of honor at the Quirinale palace.
