During the delicate intervention, a new request for transport reached the 31 flock and the Falcon 900 that was parked at the Capodichino airport to await the end of the explant operation and re-transport the team and the organ to Pisa, had to take off for a new emergency medical transport from Brindisi to Treviso.

In the early morning of 9 March, once the explantation was over, the medical team with the organ boarded another Falcon 900 at the Capodichino airport to take off for Florence.

The staff of the Airport Command supported the need for aircraft and medical personnel in the airport services normally activated for institutional tasks.

The intervention is part of the institutional tasks that the Air Force performs daily in favor of the community with its own aircraft and through the support of air bases, such as the Capodichino Airport Command, which operate daily in the various local realities.
