Completed the 55 ° course for the operating rooms of the air department (SOR)

Forty soldiers of which 37 of the Italian Air Force and 3 of the Navy of the 55 ° SOR Course (Operators in Air Operations Department) have concluded, at the Aerocooperation School, the formative process of attribution of the qualification.

The course, lasting for 3 weeks, was held at the School of Aerocooperation located on the grounds of the Guidonia Military Airport.

Led by internal teaching staff as well as by military support from other entities of the Armed Forces, the purpose of the course was to provide users, the notions necessary for the management of air missions in the Operating Rooms of the Flight Departments, the coordination of support activities and the management of information flows between the Operating Rooms and the higher orders.

As part of the training activity, the visitors also made two cognitive-instructional visits to the ReGISCC / RACSA (Management and Innovation System for Command and Control Systems / Air Space Control Training Department) of Pratica di Mare (RM) and the COA (Command Aerial Operations) of Poggio Renatico (FE) where they have experimented in the field the task that will be called to perform.

The School of Aerocooperation is the military interforces institute specialized training and technical-operational value in the field of interpretation of remote sensing images (aerial and satellite) and in that of aeroterrestrial and aeronaval cooperation. For the training and qualification of Advanced Air Controllers, the School has also recently obtained NATO certification.

The courses held at the School of Aerocooperation are open not only to military personnel of the Armed Forces, but also to personnel outside the Administration of Defense and to military personnel of NATO and countries participating in the International Partnership for Peace program (PfP - Partnership for Peace), subject to authorization by the General Staff Defense.
