Tuesday 14 April the Operating Room of the 22 Radar Group of the Italian Air Force (Gr.RAM) of Licola (NA) supported an unscheduled NATO operational evaluation (Readiness Verification), aimed at verifying the ability to effectively fulfill its tasks, against a scenario of simulated crisis.

Specifically, the Operating Room of the 22 Radar Group - under the command of the Combined Air Operation Center (CAOC) of Torrejon (Spain), responsible for the collective Air Defense of the Alliance for Southern Europe - exercised the tactical control of the fighters Eurofighter of the 36 ° Stormo of Gioia del Colle, alerted to intercept and identify an aircraft that simulated an unauthorized intrusion into the airspace of competence.

The rapid and effective implementation of the provisions of the operating procedures has earned the operators of the Licola Air Defense (NA) the applause of the NATO assessors, who Lt. Col. Capasso, commander of the 22 Radar Group, has extended to all the staff of the Department for the transversal operational, technical and logistic contribution.
