In the afternoon of Thursday 8 October, at the military airport of Galatina, for the first time in Italy, four pilots students, after wearing flight suit, helmet, anti-g trousers and secumar jacket, have crossed the Salento skies, together to their instructors, on board the two-seater T-346A jet trainer.
The young officers boarded the advanced training aircraft, object of the desire of more and more numerous foreign aeronautics, started the course a few weeks ago. Before the flight, however, they had to complete a theoretical part called "school on the ground"; then they tested the advanced flight simulators integrated in the same training system according to the LVC (Live, Virtual and Constructive Simulation) methodology.
On the T-346A there is the phase IV of the training on the military flight, managed by the 212 ° Gruppo Volo: only the pilots who will fly on the most advanced avionics and aerodynamic aircraft supplied to the Air Force arrive.
