New intervention of an Air Force helicopter in Sardinia

In the late morning today, an AB 212 helicopter of the 80 ° Combat SAR Center (Search And Rescue) of Decimomannu, of the 15 ° Wing of the Air Force, was again called to intervene to rescue two operators of the Forest Service. an area that cannot be reached by land vehicles due to heavy snowfall. 

Following the activation by the Poggio Renatico (FE) Air Operations Command, the helicopter took off from the Decimomannu air base at 12: 00 carrying a team of the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps to reach the area of ​​operations in the area of ​​Monte Mamone - Bitti (NU). 

Once the two technicians were reached and rescued, the crew headed to the Bitti sports field where the rescue team landed. 

The activity carried out today is also part of the broader defense system that is working in close coordination with the Civil Protection throughout the country to deal with the snow emergency that is affecting the whole of Italy.
