On Tuesday 4 September, the Atlante Task Group, of the Air Djibouti Task Force, successfully completed the first cycle of operational missions in support of the European Union naval force.

The Air Djibouti Task Force is redeployed in the homonymous country of the Horn of Africa as part of the European Union's anti-piracy mission "Atalanta".

The Italian Predator carried out a control mission of approximately 11 hours, highlighting its effectiveness in the long-range performance of surveillance and reconnaissance activities.

In the coming months, the remotely piloted aircraft will be used to monitor the seas off the coast of Somalia, where pirates have been detected, in order to prevent and counter possible attacks, protecting merchant ships and those of the World Food Program .
