The Douhet School visits in Romagna

On Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 May, 52 students of the "Lyra" course of the Military School "Giulio Douhet" of Florence were visiting Cervia and Ravenna in the context of extracurricular activities aimed at bringing young people closer to the world of work and companies.

Guests of the 1st Special Operations Air Brigade, they were received by the commander, air brigade general Francesco Saverio Agresti, and by Colonel Giuseppe Massimetti, commander of the 15th Wing. For the whole afternoon, the students had the opportunity to visit the Cervia airport and for the first time get close to the aircraft of the Armed Force engaged, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, in search and rescue.

The following morning was dedicated to the cultural visit of the city of Ravenna, where they visited the mosaics of the Basilica of San Vitale and Dante's tomb.

The students were guests of Micoperi's CEO, Silvio Bartolotti, who visited the School several times. Along the way an off-program: Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, engaged at the Alighieri theater for the rehearsals of a show, hosted the students in the theater to attend a moment of rehearsals.

After the visit to the San Vincenzo Equal School, where the young people were welcomed by 240 joyful children for a souvenir photo, the students were received in the Town Hall by the Mayor Fabrizio Matteucci. During the journey through the streets of the historic center, the boys were stopped by many citizens intrigued by their presence who asked for information on their activity, expressing feelings of sympathy.

The preview visit to the renovated Francesco Baracca Museum in Lugo di Romagna and the greetings of the Mayor Davide Ranalli concluded the didactic-cultural experience of the students in Romagna.
