The School of Aerocooperation at the workshop on simulation systems

05/02/15

Last week a workshop on simulation systems to support training and operational activities was held at the "Francesco Baracca" airport of the 5 ° RIGEL Army Aviation Regiment of Casarsa della Delizia (PN).

The activity took place in the presence of representatives of the General Staff of the Army (gen. B. Marinelli), of the Friuli Division (gen. B. Riccò), of the commander of the Aerocooperation School (gen. Ba Giunchi), of the commander of the Brigade Ariete (gen. b. Polli) and of the deputy commander of the Pozzuolo del Friuli Brigade (col. Raccampo).

The purpose of the event was to experiment, through practical tests, the skills and advantages in training that the use of virtual technologies, integrated with the means, equipment and weapons systems supplied to the Armed Forces, can provide to the various operations.

The occasion gave the opportunity to experiment, successfully, the integration between the main simulation systems in use at the Armed Forces for training and compatibility between rotary-wing arrangements (NH-90 and A-129), tactical means (VTLM "Lince") and equipment used by the infantry. Moreover, integrated simulation systems for the management of support and Command and Control fire were tested.

The Aerocooperation School also participated in the activity conceived and organized by the Friuli Aircraft Brigade, led by General Salvatore Cuoci, with its own FAC / JTAC (Forward Air Controller / Attack Controller) and its own technical personnel.

At the end of the meeting, General Giunchi stated that: "the use of the virtual, especially in the interforce field, represents a credible perspective for the training and experimentation of the correct technical tactics and procedures (TTPs) gained in operations, as well as a means to reduce costs, also allowing, thanks to the ability to share through the network, the use, in their own offices, of the means and equipment of the respective Armed Forces ".

The School of Aerocooperation is the military interforces institute specialized training and technical-operational value in the field of interpretation of remote sensing images (aerial and satellite) and in that of aeroterrestrial and aeronaval cooperation.

The courses held at the School of Aerocooperation are open not only to military personnel of the Armed Forces, but also to personnel outside the Administration of Defense and to military personnel of NATO and countries participating in the International Partnership for Peace program (PfP - Partnership for Peace), subject to authorization by the General Staff Defense.
