The purpose of the event was to train the crews of transport aircraft to operate in a multinational environment by sharing tactics, techniques and operating procedures in order to increase interoperability and safety in operational contexts characterized also by the presence of real threats.
The EAATTC15-2, which is the second of three similar courses programmed in the 2015, is structured in such a way that the complexity of the missions flown grows during the event; on this occasion, particular importance was given to the techniques and procedures relating to the flight in formation.
The course was attended by aircraft from five European countries belonging to the EATC (European Air Transport Command): Belgium (C-130H), France (C-130H and C-160), Germany (C-160) and Spain (C- 130H), in addition to Italy that took part in the event with a C-130J of the 46 ^ Pisa Air Brigade which carried out about 24 flight hours; the Italian team included pilots, on-board operators, a maintenance team and staff from the Brigade Command and Control chain.
