Today the meeting took place between the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CSMA), gen.sa Enzo Vecciarelli and the Greek counterpart lt. January Christos Vaitsis.

The meeting was intended to strengthen relations between Italy and Greece and was a consequence of the previous one that took place in Lecce last July 28, at the same time as that between the Italian defense minister, sen. Roberta Pinotti and the Hellenic one, dr. Panos Kammenos. On the occasion, the gen. Vaitsis also had the opportunity to pilot the new trainer aircraft in service at the 61 ° Stormo, the M-346.

The topics discussed were related to the technical / training sector and were intended to implement the already fruitful cooperation existing between the two aeronautics, with a view to a possible further optimization and internationalization of their respective capacities. Affinities and similarities between the two air forces and the two countries were highlighted, which, when put into a system, will be able to ensure the increase of the stability and security framework of the Mediterranean basin which, in recent months, has been put to the test also from the shared problem of receiving refugees from countries in crisis areas.
