General Frank Gorenc visiting Cameri

Yesterday, at the Cameri Military Airport, the visit of US Air Force Commander in Europe (COMUSAFE), General Frank Gorenc, took place. The foreign authority was accompanied by the Chief of Staff of Air Force, Air Force General Pasquale Preziosa.

Upon their arrival, the guests were welcomed by the head of the Multipurpose Aircraft Center of Cameri (Ce.Po.VA), general inspector Lucio Bianchi. Also present were the Director of the Armaments and Airworthiness Armaments Department (DAAA), General Inspector Capo Francesco Langella, and the Director of the Directorate for the Use of Aeronautical Military Personnel (DIPMA), General of the Gianpaolo Miniscalco air division.

After a meeting between General Precious and General Gorenc, guests attended a briefing on the "Final Assembly and Check Out" (FACO) for the F35 / Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) aircraft held by Brigadier General Giuseppe Lupoles of Aeronautical Armaments and Aeronautics Direction.

The guests were then escorted to the "FACO" area where they were able to visit the areas of greatest interest, taking note of the progress of the works and of the production activities in progress.

At the end of the visit, in signing the roll of honor, General Gorenc wished to express words of deep appreciation for the level of excellence found.

The Aerotactic Aircraft Multifunctional Center (Ce.Po.VA) was established on the Cameri airport grounds on 23 July 2012 and placed under the authority of the 2nd Division of the AM Logistic Command. The 1st Aircraft Maintenance Department, the Cameri Airport Command and the Initial Training Unit (NIF) for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35 program depend on the Ce.Po.VA. Ce.Po.VA, with its employees, represents the main engineering-maintenance and logistic center of the Italian Air Force for high-performance "fast jet" aircraft.
