Today the first century of the life of the aeronautical commissariat corps198 of 23 August 1923. A glorious past that joins that of the Air Force itself, born as an autonomous armed force a few months earlier, on 28 March 1923.
"An anniversary with a very high symbolic value, necessarily coeval with the year of foundation of the Air Force, since the institutional tasks devolved to our prestigious corps are an essential safeguard to safeguard the efficiency and full operation of the entire armed force". These are the words of the head of the aeronautical commissariat corps, chief inspector general Walter Maria Li Greci, in the greeting message addressed to the corps personnel. Referring then to the delicate role that the modern military instrument requires of the men and women of the police station, both in the national territory and in the chaotic international context, he continued as follows: "I address each of you, exhorting you so that the exemplary behavior, the marked institutional sensitivity, the imperturbable motivational drive and the firm adherence to the values of generosity and mutual respect, do not cease to characterize your human and professional path, even silently and away from the limelight”.
The chief of the commissariat corps is the adviser to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force on all matters concerning the corps, with particular regard to training and employment profiles of personnel, as well as for technical matters of competence.
Il aeronautical commissariat corps performs managerial, inspection, logistical, technical, administrative and accounting functions for the services of cash, provisioning, clothing and equipment, barracks as well as other ordinary materials; carries out study, research and technical development activities in sectors of specific interest and performs functions in legal, economic and financial matters; holds positions established by law. The aeronautical commissariat corps presides over the technical and administrative functioning of the directorates of the aeronautical commissariat, the air zone commands and the commands of the Air Force; of warehouses and various factories.
