The com.te of the CFC in Djibouti

Yesterday, the commander of the Combat Forces Command (COMCFC) of the Air Force, General of Air Division Nicola Lanza De Cristoforis, arrived in Djibouti, for a visit to the Italian contingent of the Task Force Air.

Upon his arrival at the Italian military support base in Djibouti (BMIS), General Lanza De Cristoforis was welcomed by the commander of the Task Force Air Djibouti (TFA-G) and the commander of the BMIS.

During the visit, the commander of the TFA-G illustrated to the general the capabilities of the weapon system employed, the Predator MQ-1C, and the operational activity carried out by the Atlas Task Group in support of the European EUNAVFOR mission in the Gulf of Aden, highlighting the results achieved in recent months.

The commander of the Combat Forces subsequently visited the French area of ​​Chabelley airport, where the two Air Force Predators are deployed.

On this occasion, General Lanza De Cristoforis met the staff of the Task Force Air to which he wanted to underline the importance of the work and expressed his personal appreciation for the excellent work done.

The Air Force Task Force of Djibouti was established on August 6 2014 as a contribution of the Air Force to the Atalanta operation, operation under the aegis of the European Union, aimed at counteracting the criminal activities related to maritime piracy and the defense of convoys of the World Food Program (WFP) which transports humanitarian aid to the people of Somalia.
