The change of command ceremony between Pilot Colonel Marco Boveri (outgoing) and Pilot Colonel Alessandro Fiorini (incoming ). The ceremony, presided over by air force general Silvano Frigerio, commander of the AM/72rd Air Region Schools of Bari, was attended by the highest civil and military authorities of the territory.
Colonel Boveri, after greeting the authorities and the guests who attended, during his farewell speech, thanked the commander of the schools and of the 3 ª RA for his trust and valuable guidance and greeted the commander of the incoming wing with a welcome, placing particular emphasis on thanking all the staff of the 72nd wing with a precise phrase addressed to the pilot instructors and visitors: “The clearest images in my personal photo album are the often tired from hard work but also satisfied and happy expressions of our instructor pilots after they have fulfilled their task of training and educating new helicopter pilots. Our boys come from different realities, Armed Forces and armed bodies of the State and from foreign countries that come together in an amalgam of passion, common aspirations and sharing of superior values ".
During his speech, Colonel Fiorini, after thanking the authorities present, the press and Colonel Boveri, addressed the staff of the flock saying: "Imprint on me your consolidated experience and professional skills built over decades donated to the training of helicopter pilots of the Air Force of the other Armed Forces, of the armed bodies of the State and of foreign countries".
Then, addressing the commander of the AM/3^ RA Schools, he said: “General Frigerio, I can only thank you and the Air Force for the trust placed in me in assigning me the position of commander of this prestigious department. The present requires the right attention so that the future projection of the tradition and professionalism of the 72nd wing is not compromised: I will offer you the same sincere, honest and positive collaboration that today I request from my staff".
General Frigerio, addressing the outgoing commander, Colonel Boveri, expressed his satisfaction for the excellent teamwork carried out together with the men and women of the flock with commitment and passion for carrying out the assigned mission. "A department that has become a point of reference in flight training not only nationally, but also internationally, just think that since its foundation to date, the School has issued almost 5 piloting licenses - in addition to the pilots of the 'Military Air Force, of the other Armed Forces and of the armed bodies of the State".
And addressing a heartfelt wish to the incoming commander, Colonel Fiorini, he remarked: "The change in command, albeit in the sign of continuity in the sharing of values and ideals that represent the pillars on which our Armed Forces are based, guarantees - at the same time - new vigor and energy, the result of the different lives and experiences of the successive commanders. Col. Fiorini, to whom the command insignia and traditions of the flock have been delivered - with the symbolic passage of the Flag - is now called to give his contribution and I am sure that he will be able to carry out an accurate, pragmatic command action and smart”.
The 72nd wing of Frosinone, the only school in the rotary wing sector in Italy, is the department that trains the helicopter pilots of the Air Force, of the other armed forces and armed bodies of the State, as well as foreign visitors. The inter-force and interagency synergy developed in the field of training at the Helicopter school of Frosinone, is part of the perspective of continuous improvement of training and contextual optimization of resources.
