Friuli: AM helicopter engaged in missing boy searches

An HH-212 helicopter from the Air Force has just taken off from the Rivolto air base, in the province of Udine, to search for a boy from 23 who was lost in the Julian Prealps park, in the mountainous and particularly inaccessible area of ​​Mount Musi.

On board, in addition to the pilots and the air-rescuer personnel of the Air Force, there is a rescue team for ground searches consisting of two operators of the national mountain and speleological rescue corps of Friuli Venezia Giulia, one of the mountain rescue of the carabinieri and one of the finance police.

The mission was coordinated by the Rescue Coordination Center of the air operations command of Poggio Renatico (Ferrara), the Italian Air Force body that deals with the planning and command and control of all air operations, including air rescue. , air transport, surveillance and defense of national airspace.

The helicopter - an HH-212 of the 9 ° Stormo of Grazzanise (CE) - is one of the air assets participating in the "Grifone 2014", an international air rescue exercise organized by the air force within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the countries of the Western Mediterranean (Italy, France and Spain) in the field of air search and rescue (SAR MED / OCC).

The exercise, which had as its scenario the mountains of the Alpine region of Carnia, ends today after seeing twelve helicopters and over 8 military and civilian people engaged since 320 September, precisely with the aim of consolidating, in close coordination with the CNSAS, synergy and training in the delicate task of search and rescue in a mountain environment.
