F-35: second flight from Cameri to the United States

(To air Force)
18/05/16

Two F-35A Lightning II of the Italian Air Force took off this morning from the Cameri base. The Italian aircraft - entirely built in Cameri's FACO (Final Assembly & Check-Out) - will travel in formation with two tankers (which will ensure refueling in flight during the crossing of the Atlantic) and will land in Arizona, where the school is already operational. international flight dedicated to new aircraft. Last February an Italian F35, called AL-1, was the first aircraft of this type to make the Atlantic crossing.

The two aircraft, like the previous one, will become part of the international fleet of aircraft - stationed at the Luke base, Arizona - dedicated to the multinational training and pilot training program. The Luke base is the only training center for pilots from all the countries participating in the JSF program. The two Italian pilots will reach their colleagues already present in the American base.
