The event, organized on the extraordinary stretch of the sea in front of the coast in the "Foce Verde" locality, at the extraordinary AM detachment of the 4 ^ Telecommunications Brigade and Systems for Air Defense and Flight Assistance of Borgo Piave, saw the joint participation of the firemen of the Rio Martino Fire Department, assisted from the ground by means and fire-fighting personnel of the Latina airport and the HH-139A helicopter of the AM air rescue of the 85 ° CSAR Center (Combat Search And Rescue) of room in Pratica di Mare.
The exercise was coordinated by the Maritime District Office of Terracina.
Before the practical activity in the water, specific briefings were given to all the personnel participating in the exercise, in order to illustrate the survival techniques at sea, the peculiar characteristics of the equipment and, above all, the methods and the safe helicopter recovery procedures.

The exercise was dedicated to the training of the 70 ° Stormo flight school instructor pilots, other AM crews from the neighboring AM Departments, the Carabinieri staff for the AM and piloting course goers (second lieutenants, student pilots "Orione V") coming from the Pozzuoli Aeronautical Academy, with the dual objective of allowing the execution, also to the 15 ° Stormo air raid personnel, of the peculiar and delicate training phase in a "real" context.
This preparatory activity therefore constitutes a structure of fundamental importance to guarantee the success of the search and rescue of human lives, in situations of grave danger and difficulty, both throughout the national territory in favor of the community, and in other operational scenarios at support of military personnel, in all weather conditions, day and night, twenty-four hours a day for the entire year.
The 15 ° Cervo Wing is engaged in international humanitarian missions, in parallel with national CSAR commitments, as well as support for the security of sensitive areas and objectives during major public events.
The 70 ° Stormo, Enrico Comani, is a flight school based at the airport of Latina, under the command of the Air Force and 3 ^ Bari Region Air Command. Its mission is to carry out, from 1939, the 'training of flight crews on propeller-driven aircraft and from the 1962 on-the-fly selection of all future military pilots of the Air Force, other Armed Forces, Armed Corps of the State and foreign countries accessing piloting courses.
The Air Force Flight Schools, engaged in a complex process of growth and modernization, provide a training offer of absolute quality and competence, such as to represent a point of reference in flight training in the international context.
