28/08/15

On Wednesday 19 August, a flight crew from the 80th SAR (Search and Rescue) Combat Center of Decimomannu (CA), belonging to the 15th Wing of the Air Force successfully completed a joint exercise with the Coast Guard personnel of Alghero.

The purpose of the exercise is to verify the operational abilities of sea rescue intervention, to coordinate the operations between the Air Force and the Coast Guard and the synergy between the operating personnel.

The event involved the personnel of the two Operations Rooms, the AB-212 helicopter of the AM and a Cp 871 patrol boat.

During the operation, the aeronautical aero-rescuers made some transfers and recoveries between helicopter and patrol boat.

Given the restricted maneuvering spaces, we wanted to simulate different intervention scenarios in order to train the personnel in any type of emergency situation that could occur.
