BLSD course in Capodichino

Last Tuesday, at the Capodichino Airport Command, the 4 ° BLS-D course (Basic Life Support Defibrillation) required for the achievement of the qualification of "Rescuer Driver in Aeronautica Militare", in line with the programs and contents, was concluded. of the CL-SAN-003 Directive of the 2010.

The course, similar to the previous ones, was organized by the local Infermeria di Corpo, which availed itself of the consolidated collaboration of the Italian Red Cross staff.

The training process was structured in such a way as to guarantee the learning of basic elements relating to rescue operations to a patient in cardiac arrest (BLSD), basic life support to a traumatized patient and finally to the management of a possible accident, with particular regard to the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation maneuvers and the use of the External Semi-automatic Defibrillator.

The course was attended by 33 attendees, identified from the staff to be qualified as "rescue driver" and the one employed on a 24-hour shift in the Forces Protection services who can guarantee continuity in the correct management of pre-hospital rescue to traumatized personnel or victims of medical pathology. 'urgency, thanks also to the use of defibrillators installed by the local Infirmary of the Corps at the facilities of the military airport with greater influx of personnel. 

The Airport Commander, Colonel Angelantonio Palmiero, who intervened in the final phase of the training cycle, thanked the staff of the Italian Red Cross for their competence, highlighting the constant attention that the Air Force pays to the culture of accident prevention in the environments of work, as well as the high value of the training objectives of the course, aimed at significantly improving and increasing the rescue skills in favor of employees, but also of the civilian population in case of need and urgency and / or where requested by higher authorities, as part of the various institutional tasks that the Air Force performs daily in support of the population.
