Enrolled in the Royal Air Force in the 1938, Petrosellini attended the flying schools of Pisa and Foligno, obtaining the military pilot's license in the spring of 1940.
During the Second World War it took part in operations in Yugoslavia, in North Africa and on the Mediterranean, knocking down 5 allied aircraft.
During his career he piloted 80 different types of aircraft, performing over 20.000 hours of flight.
Through his aviation businesses, he left a deep mark on the history of military aviation and an indelible memory as a very high-profile pilot.
