The course for firing instructors has been completed in Viterbo

On Friday 17 October, the 4 course "Military Shooting Instructor" was concluded at the Marshals School of the Military Air Force / Viterbo Airport Command.

The course, initially addressed to 18 military of the armed force, took place in two phases: a first phase, from 1 July to 14 September, with distance mode, a second phase, in frequency, from 15 September to 17 October at the structures of the Viterbo school.

Also this year the minimum requirements for entry to the practical part of the course, related both to the basic ability of shooting with a short weapon and to the theoretical knowledge acquired in the "e-learning" phase, allowed the admission to the course attendance only personnel in possession of an adequate technical-professional capacity.

The course required a high level of commitment on the part of instructors from both the marshalling school and other military aviation departments, which enabled course attendees to receive highly professional training.

The theoretical / practical activities, in line with the past years, have concerned fundamental aspects of the specific sector such as the deepening of the technical knowledge of the weapons, starting from the nomenclature of the parts and the relative ammunition supplied up to the improvement of the main shooting techniques and the use of pointing optics, passing through the study of teaching methodology and shooting psychology.

During the course, the visitors also carried out activities at the Castel Sant'Elia civil firing range, where they performed Long Range exercises (target distance 300mt) with a wide range of weapons supplied.

At the end of the course, the commander of the school and of the Colonel Paolo Briancesco airport attended, who, in delivering the qualification certificate to those who passed the demanding training procedure, expressed to all the Instructor staff and in particular to the personnel in full support satisfaction for the work done, emphasizing the operational importance of this course, carried out independently within the armed force thanks to the school's teaching and logistic support capabilities.
