27/10/14

On Friday 24 October, at the Air Operation Training Center (AOTC) of the Poggio Renatico (FE) Air Operations Command, the first course called Air C2 Orientation Course was concluded for the captains attending the 80 ° normal course at the Institute of Military Sciences (ISMA) of Florence.

The new course is part of the training of the staff to be employed at the national Air Component Joint Force according to the dictates of the training directive being published which, incorporating the training concepts of NATO, divides the training into initial training, functional training and group training.

The Air C2 Orientation Course, which constitutes the initial training, introduces the concepts of command and control of air operations at a theoretical level through a targeted cycle of lessons.

A part of the officers of the 80 ° normal course will return later to the AOTC to support the functional training phase, that is the practical component of the basic course of preparation for air operations (CPO1). During the functional course, the attendees will acquire the basic knowledge aimed at the production of the Air Task Order (ATO), which is the final product through which the Joint Force Air Component Command decides how to use the air assets available to it .
