Completed the 16 ° Basic War of Electronic War

From November 28 to December 6, 20 navigating officers, two officers of the role of weapons belonging to the specialty "Information and Security" and a non-commissioned officer, coming from many operational departments of the AM, attended the 16 ° basic course of Electronic War, held at the War Technical Support Department Electronics (Re.STOGE) of Pratica di Mare (RM).

The course aims to assign the "Electronic Warfare" qualification to the Navigators, both pilots and navigators, identified, within the various flight departments of the AM, to cover the position of official of Electronic War of Group / Flock. This assignment is considered to be of strategic importance, as it is essential to ensure optimal use of the self-protection equipment supplied with the operational front-line. The lectures, held entirely by Re.STOGE staff, covered notions such as the electromagnetic spectrum, the operating principles of anti-aircraft systems, the techniques for disturbing / deceiving radar and electronic warfare in communications.

The course has also constituted an important moment of exchange of experiences and suggestions between the Re.STOGE and the flight departments regarding the activities in progress and the future projects in the field of the sector ofElectronic Warfare, and allowed the navigating officers to represent to the personnel of the Re.STOGE any criticalities found during the use of the self-protection apparatus in real operations and exercises.

The mission of Re.STOGE is to provide the Electronic War Operational Support (SOGE) to the Air Force departments through operational, technical and training activities aimed at optimizing the self-protection of the aircraft, as well as that of planning and conducting defensive and offensive air operations in the "Electronic Warfare Support" capacity through their squads of crews of flight - operators of electronic warfare, who maintain a constant state of first aid.
