The commander of the 61st Wing, Colonel Paolo Tarantino, and the director of the 10th RMV, Colonel Filippo Trigilio, opened the meeting, greeting the delegations with words of appreciation for the demanding activity carried out, always aimed at acknowledging, representing and protecting the expectations of thousands of men and women in blue uniform.
As part of the work, on Thursday 18 September, a delegation of the COCER of armed force, invited by the merged Coir, and at the express request of the 61 ° Stormo and 10 ° RMV Cobar, met the staff of the Salento air base at the hall of airport cinema. For the occasion, Cobar representatives from the Brindisi airport detachment and the Otranto aeronautical detachment were also present, ready to accept any news and make suggestions on the topics of greatest interest.
The agenda of the meetings is particularly dense and the issues addressed are varied, all of which are highly topical, such as the pension reform, the reform of representation and the reorganization of careers.
Naturally at the center of the debate the "spending review" and the so-called "salary block", arguments which, precisely because of the peculiar historical moment, forced two of the Cocer representatives who spoke in Galatina, Lieutenant Colonel Guido Bottacchiari, president of the central body representative, and the 1st Marshal Marco Cicala, to shuttle between Salento and Rome in order to be present at the meetings called by the government and the political parties on the delicate issue.
At the end of the work, the delegation greeted the commander of the 61st Wing to whom it expressed its appreciation for the preparation, availability and maturity shown by all the staff who participated in the discussion.
The col. Tarantino, for his part, underlined the importance of these meetings, emphasizing how "direct confrontation is essential, for those who have the responsibility to represent military personnel in the Institutional Locations, to strengthen the awareness of carrying forward supported and shared programs, with the firm conviction that only the aggregation and the communion of intent lead to the achievement of the set objectives ".
