Change of command: new leadership at the 3rd vehicle maintenance group

The handover ceremony between Lieutenant Colonel Domenico Romano, outgoing commander, and Lieutenant Colonel Domenico Bruni, incoming commander, took place on Wednesday 15 November at the 3rd vehicle maintenance group (GMA) in Mungivacca (BA).

The event was chaired by the commander of the technical supply center of Fiumicino, Colonel Gaetano Fusco.

In his farewell speech, Lt. with the. Romano thanked the military and civilian personnel of the 3rd GMA, calling them a “department in possession of men and women of great merit, quality and depth”.

After the "recognition formula", the new commander, lieutenant. with the. Bruni addressed those present, indicating loyalty, moral integrity, honesty and passion as the elements on which he will base his command action to pursue the objectives of the department, a reference body in the AM maintenance and motorization sector, characterized by high technical profile of the staff who work there.

At the end of the ceremony, the commander of the technical supply center, Col. Fusco, expressed great satisfaction with what was done during the period of command by lieutenant. with the. Roman "for having constantly worked, throughout the course of his command, to resolve complex problems related to the motorization sector and the management of a small but extremely complex infrastructure such as the 3rd motor vehicle maintenance group". Furthermore, expressing particular applause to the military and civilian personnel of the group who have always carried out, without any interruption, a silent but extremely significant activity in guaranteeing the full operational efficiency of the armed force departments located throughout the national territory.

Military, civil and religious authorities took part in the ceremony, including the Air Force Association of Bari, the Labari of the Capurso and Triggiano Section and theNational Association of the families of the fallen and mutilated of the AM.

The 3rd GMA carries out 3rd technical level maintenance of the AM's high operational value, tactical and special vehicles and generator sets; it also carries out training activities and research, study and testing of new maintenance solutions. It has the capacity to create polychrome painting on tactical and special vehicles. Finally, the institution carries out maintenance on the GSE/MHE equipment supplied to the Air Terminal Operation Center (ATOC) and to air bases throughout the national territory.
