Monday 6 September, at the airport "A. Baccarini "home of the 4 ° Stormo" Amedeo d'Aosta ", was held the ceremony for the change to the summit of the wing that saw Colonel Enrico Pederzolli give the command to Colonel Marco Lant.
The event was chaired by the commander of the air squadron, general of the air squadron Franco Girardi and saw the participation of the commander of the combat forces, general of air division Claudio Gabellini, as well as of all the major civil, religious and military authorities of the city of Grosseto.
During his speech, Colonel Pederzolli, greeting the staff of the 4 ° Stormo, expressed his heartfelt thanks for the support and consent received during the years spent at the Tuscan Stormo, thanks to which important results were achieved.
"These two years have been characterized by a national and international context critical of the presence of threats to internal security and the presence of armed conflicts in states very close to Italy. This implied that we were asked to guarantee greater readiness; it has required an increase in the volume of activity to be able at the same time both to project a credible air defense capacity abroad in the context of the commitments arising from the alliances, and to guarantee our primary and indispensable defense of the Italian airspace h24 , 365 days a year. Alarm service that, never as in this period, has required numerous real interventions that have seen us engaged with requests ranging from assistance to troubled line aircraft to more complex and sensitive interventions on foreign aircraft."
Later, Colonel Lant took the floor by highlighting the pride of having received such a prestigious assignment; during his speech, he also asked the staff for the same support, will and dedication shown over the years, in order to always reach new and more prestigious goals that will interest the Storm, highlighting how "the spirit that animates and animates the actions of each woman and man of the 4 ° Stormo will be to carry out its mission with excellence, aware of the fact that only by working together towards a common goal will we be able to meet the challenges that the future holds. "
At the end of the speeches, the airliner general Franco Girardi took the floor, thanking Colonel Pederzolli for his excellent work and confirming the trust of the armed forces summit to Colonel Lant, recalling at the end the new challenges that await the flock and its staff all.

I would like to confirm my full confidence in Colonel Lant, aware that he will be able to carry out this delicate task with the utmost commitment and foresight; I am also sure that it will be able to rely on the generous and capable participation of all the staff of the 4th Wing". General Girardi then concluded his speech by thanking the families of military personnel who, with their moral support, are close in their daily commitment and share sacrifices and satisfactions of their loved ones.
