(To air Force)

Last night, at around 21 pm, a C-130J of the Italian Air Force concluded an urgent medical transport of a newborn in immediate danger of life that needed to be transferred to a hospital suitable for treatment.

The prefecture of Potenza has requested transport to the Summit Situation Room of the Air Force Command of the AM that immediately ordered the transport through a C-130J of the 46ª brigade of Pisa. This type of aircraft makes it possible to board the ambulance in which the patient needed to stay.

The C-130J has thus taken off from Pisa to reach Bari, where it has loaded the ambulance and is re-loaded to Rome, where the medical vehicle has continued its run towards the Bambino Gesù hospital.

The extreme flexibility of use of the aircraft supplied to the 46 ^ air brigade and the possibility of changing its configuration with relative ease make the C-130J a precious asset for the defense and security of the country. The Air Force is one of the very few air forces in the world capable of safely transporting ambulances.
