The technological adaptation was carried out in two phases. The first evaluation of the availability of spare parts on systems being discontinued and the second phase, carried out directly in Sigonella, with the removal of the inefficient antenna and the installation of the one coming from Amendola.
Subsequently, the "setting-up" and calibration operations and the relative alignments towards the four runway heads were performed.
The antenna, which is the "heart" of the apparatus, must be managed and maintained with professionalism and accuracy, to allow the PAR system to ensure the landing of military aircraft even with very low visibility.
The intervention materialized using human and material resources exclusively "in-sourcing" and allowed to test the "organizational system" of radar equipment maintenance.
