A young pregnant woman was rushed from Reggio Calabria to Rome this morning with a F of the 31 ° Stormo. The expectant mother was hospitalized at the United Hospitals of the capital of Calabria and the critical clinical conditions have made it necessary to transfer it immediately to the hospital Fatebenefratelli of Rome.

The ambulance flight, one of the services in favor of the community that the Air Force ensures through aircraft and crews ready to take off in very short times, was requested by the Prefecture of Reggio Calabria and coordinated by the Summit Situation Room of the Air Force. On board, given the particular clinical conditions of the patient, a thermal cradle was also loaded in case of need. The flight, initially of training, was reconfigured in extremely short time in urgent medical transport, allowing in just over three hours from the activation to positively conclude the mission, which ended around the 12,30 with the arrival at Ciampino.

Interventions of this type by the Air Force aircraft are very frequent, hundreds every year, whenever the conditions and the geographical position of the patient make it necessary to carry out emergency air transport. These are vehicles that are always ready for take-off and that have the ability to take on specific medical and health equipment and equipment, such as thermal cradles, or even an ambulance with the patient on board, as in the case of the 46 ^ brigade aircraft aerial of Pisa.
