On Wednesday, the "10 years of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Flight" conference was held at the center of defense studies (CASD) in Palazzo Salviati, in the presence of Pasquale Preziosa, the chief of the General Staff of the air force. The conference was attended by industrialists, civilian figures and training institutes.

The seminar aimed to focus on the use and expansion possibilities of the use of RPSAs (Remotely Piloted System Aircraft), retracing the milestones of the milestones achieved by the air force since 2001, the year in which the armed force began to invest in this sector.

As the air power theorist Giulio Douhet stated: "Whoever wants to build a good tool for war must first ask himself what the next crisis will be".

However, the evolution of the international scenario has significantly changed over the last few years. The transversality and the unpredictability of future threats, above all terrorist threats, are the great security challenges. To cope with this dynamic, a constant level of preparation is required on the whole spectrum of operations, a continuous process of adaptation of forces, technological innovation and the theory of use of the military instrument.

Italy is one of the first countries to have believed in the timely and effective use of RPSAs, always maintaining a close coherence with similar processes started in cooperation with the European Union.

"The challenges of tomorrow must be faced by Europe with new tools in a" Share to Win "perspective, we must necessarily focus on interoperability and technologies; we can still expand our horizons and continue to explore new solutions. Grow together and strengthen our ties ”so the gen. Precious sees the future.

"The example of our policies in this dimension has infected Europe, it is a starting point if we consider the margin of development and the potential that it still offers us."
