Just two days ago we talked about the widening of the conflict in Yemen, taking stock of the global repercussions of a war forgotten by the media (read article).

At the dawn of October 13, the destroyer USS Nitze he would launch a multiple attack with Tomahawk missiles against Shiite rebel positions Houthi destroying a radar station on the Yemeni coast near Ras Isa, not far from the port of Mokha.

The attack, authorized by the White House, would be a response to the launch of anti-ship missiles which was the subject of the USS Mason last October 9th. The Nitze and Mason they are missile launchers of the class Arleigh Burke and both are part of the fleet sent to reinforce US units in the Red Sea.

The Pentagon, after confirming the attack, reiterated the US intention to respond by force to any hostile act by the rebels Houthi. The American intervention, urged by the Saudi ally and the pro-Hadi Sunnis, would be aimed at opposing the domination of the militias loyal to President Saleh, who by now would have full control of the western coasts of Yemen.
