118 second lieutenants arrived today at the Army Application School at the end of the two years of study at the Military Academy of Modena.
Coming from all the Italian regions, with an equal distribution between north, center, south and islands, the young officers will remain in Turin for the three years necessary to achieve the specialist degree in Strategic Sciences. Among them eight women and five foreign military men belonging to the armed forces of Afghanistan, Peru and Somalia. Fresh of nomination, destined to cover key positions in the Army units and in the various Defense organizations, the officers of the 197 ° "Tenacia" will follow the same educational path of the 200 civil students enrolled in Strategic Sciences. Five orientations provided by a degree course resulting from the consolidated collaboration between the Army and the University: organizational policies, management systems, communications, logistics, economic - administrative direction.
The common objective of the Army Application School and the Interdepartmental University Structure of Strategic Sciences (SUISS) is to train military and civil professionals capable of facing and solving complex situations in the context of crises and conflicts, in national and international scenarios. The main strengths of this innovative academic path are the internationalization of the studies obtained through targeted stays abroad and the cultural osmosis between the military, academic, scientific, entrepreneurial and communication worlds.
