This morning a patrol of the "Raggruppamento Campania" as part of the "Safe Roads - Land of Fires" operation caught a person in flagrante of a substantial illegal waste spill.
During the inspection of an area of the municipality of San Tammaro (CE) the Italian Army soldiers noticed in the distance the suspicious movement of a mechanical shovel on an agricultural land. Once they reached the place they noticed that an individual had just finished digging a deep ditch in the ground, discovering, among other things, an aquifer. The military immediately blocked the man who was about to spill a pile of special waste placed next to it and then contacted the police who arrived at the site arranged for the seizure of the vehicle, the area and to formalize a criminal complaint against the fund renter.
The activity carried out by the Italian Army with the Grouping of Campania in the so-called "Land of fires" is achieving important results in preventing and combating environmental crimes and also acts as a deterrent for common crime.
