(To Army Majority State)
06/12/16

At 2 o'clock this morning, Army soldiers employed in the "Safe Roads" Operation, in service of garrison of the territory in the square in front of the Napoli Centrale railway station, were alerted by people of foreign nationality about the presence of a woman who had recently given birth and who kept the newborn in a plastic bag.

The military approached the woman and found the male infant in the bag. Army personnel provided initial assistance, accompanying the child and mother to the shelter inside the railway station, and immediately requested the intervention of an ambulance and the State Police. The woman and the baby were then taken to the Loreto Mare Hospital where the doctors ascertained that the newborn had just been delivered by the woman. The child was therefore subjected to medical treatment and is currently in good health.

The mother, a Ukrainian citizen of 37 years, was also hospitalized and is currently being arrested because she is held responsible for the crime of attempted infanticide.
