To greet the tens of thousands of Bersaglieri in service and on leave and the thousands of families who attended the rally, the vice president ofNational Bersaglieri Association (ANB) Daniele Carozzi, the mayor of Pescara, Marco Alessandrini, and the mayor of San Donà di Piave, Andrea Cereser, where the meeting will take place next year.
The Undersecretary of Defense, during his speech, recalled how "in society the Bersaglieri of all ages are healthy carriers of values, that we all have the duty to pass on to the new generations because they are the future of our country".
General Errico, in his speech, highlighted the commitment of the Bersaglieri in stabilization operations abroad, to which "in addition to the numerous interventions of public utility during natural calamities and those in competition with the Order, which, even now, see the crimson flames deployed to guard the streets and squares of our cities as part of the Operation Safe Roads, testifying, once again, the high profile of efficiency and readiness achieved " . During his speech, General Errico also expressed "the warmest wishes for a speedy recovery and a prompt return to the ranks of his department" to the military and the agent who "that last Thursday, during a check at the Milan railway station, they were attacked and wounded. Thousands of feathered hats have invaded the streets of Pescara: more than 60 fanfare have performed for days in the city squares playing and singing historical pieces of the body: the "ricciolina", "the regiment of dad", "goodbye Rome", " the resistance race "and many others. The Meeting, entirely organized byNational Bersaglieri Association, this year has a double meaning: on the one hand it is a time of celebration for all members of the specialty, on the other hand it consolidates that deep bond that, especially in the last decade, has come to create between the Army Italian and the people of Abruzzo. The Armed Force, present in the region since the earthquake of L'Aquila of 2009, has recently completed the Operation "Sabina". The men and women of the Army were the first to intervene in central Italy after the shock of the 24 in August and since then they have been employed on 1.500 military terrain a day, with a peak of 2.500 units and 950 means, much of which belong to the departments of the Genio for activities such as: search and rescue of survivors, removal of debris, restoration of road traffic, construction of bridges, urbanization interventions for the construction of schools and housing modules and, finally, use of two Task Force, framed within the "Safe Roads" Operation, to control access to the red areas of the earthquake towns, rescue activities for the survivors of the Rigopiano hotel.

Last 4 May, for the 156 anniversary of the establishment of the Army, the head of state, Sergio Mattarella, has awarded the gold medal for civil valor to the army's war flag. 181 years of history for one of the oldest and most beloved army bodies by the Italians. Currently there are about 4.000 Army men and women employed abroad in 14 different countries: 800 of them are Bersaglieri in force to the Garibaldi Brigade, deployed in Afghanistan in Iraq. Of the 7.050 units used in competition with the Police For Operation "Safe Roads", about 460 are Bersaglieri belonging to the 1 ° regiment of Cosenza, the 3 ° regiment of Capo Teulada, the 6 ° regiment of Trapani and 8 ° regiment of Caserta. 400 Bersaglieri of the 7 ° regiment of Altamura are employed in the context of the 2.400 military contingent of the Army that, throughout the month of May, will contribute, together with the Police Forces, to form the security device for the international summit of the G7 . Meanwhile, in Orcenico Superiore (PN), a battalion of 500 Bersaglieri of the 11 regiment constitutes the so-called Very High Readiness Task Force, that is to say a Rapid Reaction Force of NATO.
