Also this year the gen.b. Mauro Prezioso, territorial commander of the Army in Puglia, will be present, as delegated by the Army Chief of Staff, general Danilo Errico, at the assignment day of the Salvatore Marracino prize.

The Marracino prize was established in honor of the paratrooper sergeant Salvatore Domenico Marracino of the 185th reconnaissance regiment for the acquisition of the “Folgore” targets, who fell in Iraq during the “Antica Babilonia” mission on 15 March 2005.

The event, which aims to transmit virtues and civic principles to the students also through the knowledge of the values that distinguish the armed force, is now a fixed appointment for the city of San Severo and is the result of the synergy between the municipality and the Salvatore Marracino association.

A day dedicated to the Army in which young students from the fifth grade of primary schools were asked to deal with a subject concerning the Army, rewarding the best theme and the best design for each participating educational circle.

An opportunity to bring young people closer to institutions and legality, a moment to remember how the values of homeland, duty and self-denial are not obsolete but lived daily by our soldiers.
