The annual meeting, which brings together all the air force commanders of the main NATO countries, partners of the Alliance and the European Union which give life to the so-called airborne community, is part of a consolidated cooperation program and has the objective of raising the standards of interoperability and multinational integration through sharing at the level of senior leadership, procedures for the airdrop of personnel and air refueling, processes for the acquisition of equipment, vehicles and materials, as well as the development of operational procedures typical of airborne operations.

Due to its characteristics of dynamism, flexibility and operational readiness, the "Folgore" parachute brigade, a large combat unit included among the Northern operational forces, is among the tools available to the Army to ensure the defense's ability to respond immediately to situations of crises and needs that require the use of forces even in locations that are difficult to reach.
