Yesterday morning, in the port of Salerno, the Italian Army intervened with men, means and materials in the operations of a new landing of migrants.
The local government authorities, in charge of managing the migration flow, have requested the competition of the "Cavalleggeri Guide" regiment (19 °) for the procedures of arrival and sorting of 1055 migrants, rescued in recent days by the Spanish military ship Reina Sofia.
The migrants, including minor 12, were subsequently transferred to reception centers in various localities, following a distribution plan established by the Ministry of the Interior.
