The Army Chief of Staff, Army Corps General Carmine Masiello, met the soldiers deployed in the Lazio-Abruzzo grouping, as part of the operation Safe Roads.
After an update on the operational situation by Brigadier General Massimiliano Mongillo, commander of the Lazio-Abruzzo grouping, General Masiello met with Army personnel involved in the surveillance of some of the sites in the Roman area, expressing full satisfaction with the capacity, effectiveness and commitment shown by the operational devices, well blended and able to tackle every task.
“The awareness of the importance of the contribution provided for the safety of citizens, demonstrated by all personnel, is tangible proof of the motivation, solid moral principles and military qualities necessary to operate well in the service of the Republic and to protect the free institutions. ” - concluded General Masiello.
The command of the group operating in Lazio and Abruzzo sees over 1.300 men employed on approximately 100 sites and, from mid-December 2023, is placed under the responsibility of the parachute brigade thunderbolt.
