The army corps general Danilo Errico, yesterday visited the "Friuli" aircraft brigade engaged in the Rimini area and in other neighboring areas, in the periodic training activity called Airmobile Permanent Training IV (APT IV).
To welcome the Chief of Staff of the Army, the commander of the "Friuli" division, division general Flaviano Godio and the commander of the "Friuli" aircraft brigade, Brigadier General Paolo Riccò who illustrated the brigade's activities, and the last results achieved in terms of functions and operational capabilities.
The APT IV represents for all the participating personnel the culmination of an intense training process which saw the flight crews of the 7 "Vega Army" Air Force Regiment, of the 5 "Army Rigel" Air Force Regiment, operate together of the 3 regiment Helicopters for Special Operations "Aldebaran" and four platoons of the 66 "Trieste" infantry aircraft regiment engaged, among other things, in planning and conducting non-permissive personnel recovery missions, as well as exploration and surveillance missions in the employment area and conquest / occupation of key points.
The interoperability pursued with the APT IV was also emphasized by the participation in the activity of other different components of the Army. In particular about 60 paratroopers of the 183 ° "Folgore" paratroopers regiment linked by CH 47 and NH 90, assets of the 1 Air Force Regiment "Antares", unit of the 2 ° / 121 ° artillery regiment, 41 ° SORAO regiment, 6 ° general logistic support regiment and of the 7 ° transmission regiment belonging to the COTIE.
At the end of the exercise, the Army Chief of Staff declared himself very satisfied with the commitment and professionalism shown by all the participants in this important training event which involved various components of the Army.
