(To Army Majority State)

At the request of the prefecture of Rome, the bomb squads of the Army provided for the defusing and blasting of a British aircraft bomb of the Second World War of 250 pounds. The bomb squads of the 6th pioneering engineering regiment of Rome carried out the reclamation operations.

The residue was found near the Via Salaria near Via della Marcignana, along one of the main roads leading to Rome.

The operations started at 5: 30, with the closure of the Via Salaria in both directions, and ended at the 8: 30 approximately with the "on-site" blast of the bomb.

Army bomb squads conducted operations in a very short time, having been activated with less than a day's notice. The Army is not new to such timely interventions, in fact, thanks to the experience gained in Italy and abroad, through skills dual-use of its departments Genius, in addition to its purely operational use, is able to intervene in reclamation activities, (as well as in cases of public calamity and utility) at any time, throughout the Italian territory in support of the national community.

The Army in the last ten years has defused more than 35.000 bombs throughout the national territory, and is the only armed force in charge of the formation and updating of the bombers of the armed forces and armed bodies of the State.
